Staying competitive in today’s online markets requires setting up business and marketing processes as efficiently and quickly as possible. With increasing complexity and the need for fast execution, marketing automation can be a powerful way to streamline these efforts.
Marketing automation in general, and especially AI-powered marketing automation workflows, can enormously impact your business. There are numerous advantages to automating marketing or business processes.
Below are only some advantages of implementing AI marketing automation workflows:
- Automating repetitive tasks. Save Time and resources, freeing yourself or your team for higher-level objectives.
- Personalizing customer experiences. Using AI to analyze funnel touchpoint data, customer behaviour, tailoring marketing messaging, content delivery, and anything else needed to improve conversion rate.
- Real-time Data Analysis and insights. Get insights into user behavior by implementing AI agents that make decisions about lead scoring, customer segmentation, and so forth.
- Automated content generation. Generate content that’s aligned to the needs of your customers, but has your unique tone of voice and value proposition baked into it. Smart AI-Agents with access to your company’s data can automatically respond to emails, publish social media posts, and write the most enticing product descriptions.
Marketing automation platforms I use
To keep full control over cost and features, I use n8n for AI workflow automation and Mautic Marketing Automation for email marketing automation by default. These are, in my opinion, the two most powerful marketing automation platforms that can be implemented with privacy in mind.
Note: Though my recommendations are always n8n and Mautic, I will also implement other solutions, such as ActiveCampaign or Zapier, if the client prefers.

AI-Powered Automations and Workflows
Below are a few examples of AI Marketing Automation workflows I’ve implemented for businesses in the last period.
In this case, all workflows are agentic (AI-Agents) and hooked up to an LLM of choice. The LLM is used to understand company data (collected in a vector database). Depending on the type of data, different workflows offer different automated tasks.
The RAG (retrieval augmented generation) system is at the core of other workflows, such as AI-powered chat agents, customer service agents, and AI email responders.
On the other hand, analytics data, which is collected through applications such as Matomo, Google Analytics, or any other tracking platform of choice, can be used to enrich CRM data with AI-powered lead scoring, nurturing, and so forth.
How AI Marketing Automation Consulting Works
Marketing automation consulting is the process of analyzing your current strategies, activities, and needs in depth to identify how automation can benefit your situation or lead to significant gains in certain areas.

Step 1: Audit & Strategy
A thorough assessment of current workflows to identify automation opportunities. This strategic groundwork ensures a tailored approach that aligns with your business’s
Step 2: Custom Automation Setup
